Canon Power

I have a canon power shot SX10, can I transfer picture from my computer to the SD card on the camera?

Connected via USB cable.
If I can, how?

First of all get yourself a card reader, they are cheap and everything is just so much easier.

To put them back onto the card is the exact opposite of downloading them, plug your camera into a USB port and turn it on. Go to My Computer and a new drive will have appeared. Open the file where the pics are and highlight the ones you want and just drag them onto the new drive.

They will be copied to the camera, BUT and it's a big BUT you won't be able to see them on the camera, and if you take any more pictures you'll probably overwrite them.

The problem is your camera needs the DCIM file to know where in the cards memory each picture begins and ends, without this info they are invisible to the camera. It's also a very good way of corrupting the SD card, but any computer which includes those in the print store will see them as they don't need the DCIM file.

Renewing the DCIM file is important which is why you should always format the card IN CAMERA after you have transferred your pictures to your computer.
