I put these dslr cameras side by side. Could you tell me the most important features to note?

To be honest I can’t see much difference between the 3 other than price and pixels.

The D80 will use almost all the Nikon lenses made since 1959 with only a few old fisheyes that will damage the mirror.

The D40 is the camera with the most bang for the buck and there are currently 26 AF-S lenses it can use and plenty more used AF-I and AF-S that can be used on both the D40 and D60

If you can afford it, buy the D80
