Digital Camera Online Sales

How can I avoid or pay less tax for an in store purchase?
I want to buy a digital camera from a local family owned store, in NJ. The 7% sales tax alone comes to $50.
How can I avoid this, without having to order online and have them ship to an out of state address and/or without having to drive to Delaware or New Hampshire?
The same product costs more in the big chain stores. The price of the product is reasonable and so is the service in this Local Business.
Thanks for all inputs.
Please do not
a) ask me to steal
b) ask me to not buy etc.
JP, the first answerer>> Thank you for your answer. It took me more than 3 years to save money towards this purchase. I’d like to avoid paying even a single penny if I could. Hence my question. Cheers.
You could make a purchase in an enterprise zone — many of NJ’s inner cities have these zones where taxes are 3%.
You could ask if the store will offer you a discount if you pay cash — so the total with the tax will be lower.
Buy online from a site that doesn’t have a physical facility in NJ and doesn’t charge sales tax to ship to your home.
Go to B&H in Manhattan and have them ship it to NJ.
You could ask if the store would hire you to do something — and pay you with a discount.
Now my question — If you have the money to buy a $700 camera why obsess on sales tax?
