How do I fix my shutter button?

camera stopped taking pics…when I press shutter button down nothing is happening( there is a flash), battery is working, card is empty( no pictures on it). Help!

First, what camera is it? Some cameras send out a light to assist with focus. That might be what you’re calling the flash. If this is the case, then it’s a focus problem. Either the light is inadequate for focusing, or you might have it off the auto focus setting.
